Great stuff as always! Its a huge asset for AP’s having all the content in one spot. Looking forward to learning more from all the blogs and podcasts.
Totally agree that the concept of sports betting entities or funds is a joke. Any major sports book will immediately shut down a fund if they bet more than 10 dollars into any kind of stale line or consistently beat the closing number. Most books in town are highly risk averse and any hint of an edge scares them, so they resort to booking 20 dollar parlay bets from tourists. Kind of sad that even with a 5% edge they cannot take more action.
That was a very elaborate craps strategy involving a card shuffling machine. Munchkin you mentioned that you were shifting your bets around every few rolls in the podcast. After reading the main article I had to assume that you were shifting your bets around a lot. Did you ever reduce your odds on the Pass Line bet if your point number was not likely to show on the next roll? Did you do any Come betting with odds on the point numbers or were your main bets strictly Place bets only that you were shifting around? It would be a big edge to know if 3 dice faces are not likely to show up on the next roll/turn of the cards.
Fantastic new website .. really pleased there is now a logical home, for all this content.
I agree the NY Times article went into much deeper detail, than, most AP’s would like – am surprised u didn’t have a little more control over what was written.
Best Wishes

Richard, whatever happened with that Blackjack movie, it has been promised for about 3 years?
